Emily Cohen is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Colorado Charter Teacher Policy Fellow and is a 3rd grade teacher at Rocky Mountain Prep-Ruby Hill Elementary in Denver. She is a long-time member of her school’s multilingual education and instructional services advisory teams and is the instructional coach for K-5 English language development (ELD) teachers. She coaches teachers to ensure that their instruction is giving students as much time to practice the daily language objective through speaking and writing. In addition, she focuses her coaching on the transfer of skills learned in ELD to all content areas. She was named a 2024-2025 PEAK Teacher at Rocky Mountain Prep-Ruby Hill. She earned her BA in leadership studies and political science from the University of Richmond.
