Dawn Davenport is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow and a high school English and Journalism teacher at Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is the advisor for the school’s newspaper, the Secondary English and Library Department Chair, and a member of the district’s DEI committee. Dawn is a representative for Leadership through Innovation in Genocide and Human rights Teaching (LIGHT), where she trains student leaders for roles in community education and activism. She earned her BA in Communications and Secondary Education at The University of Texas at Austin.
