Dr. Imelda De La Rosa is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow and teaches 8th grade science at Salvador Garcia Middle School in Laredo, Texas, where she also serves as science Pathfinder. Her previous experience includes being team leader, frontrunner leader, science department head, and 6th grade science lead. Imelda was selected as her school’s Golden Apple nominee, is a School Bell Award recipient, campus Teacher of the Year nominee, Teacher Incentive Allotment designated educator, and selected as Top Educators of America by the Who’s Who Directories (2019-2020). She is seeking National Board certification in the area of science early adolescence and is a Kappa Delta Pi member. Imelda holds a BS in biology and history with secondary certification, an MEd in curriculum and instruction with a minor in reading, and an EdD in curriculum and instruction.
