Elizabeth Smith is a Teach Plus Rhode Island Teaching Policy Fellow and a high school mathematics teacher at Mount Pleasant High School. She has volunteered as a mentor working with Chicago’s youth, and worked as a math tutor with elementary to college-level students. Elizabeth is a teaching fellow through the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, where she engages with national STEM teachers in high-quality professional development. Elizabeth is also a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). She earned her BS and MS in pure mathematics from DePaul University, and her MS in secondary mathematics education from Northwestern University.
