Erean Mei is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Senior Policy Fellow who teaches kindergarten at KIPP Academy Chicago Primary. She previously taught Head Start and other grade levels and has been a director of a childcare facility. Throughout her career, she has facilitated professional development and parent workshops specifically on behavior management, de-escalation and building social-emotional skills with young children. Erean has a BA from Northern Illinois University in Psychology, an MEd in Instructional Leadership: Early Childhood Education from University of Illinois at Chicago with a Type 4 Teaching certificate and a Early Childhood Special Education endorsement, and an English as a Second Language endorsement from Roosevelt University.
