Donna Ervin

Donna Ervin is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. Donna is a Learning Environment Specialist for the Pittsburgh Public School District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her primary goals are leading, elevating, and serving the district’s vision in learning from theory to inform practice by collaborating to problem solve and support all schools’ climate and culture to positively impact data and student achievement. Donna also works with leadership teams throughout the district on behavior initiatives like Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, efficacy, restorative practices, equity, and culturally relevant pedagogy. She currently facilitates professional development sessions on becoming conscious about race as a racial affiliate for Pittsburgh Public Schools. Donna began her teaching career teaching elementary school. She earned a BA in Communication from Chatham University, a MAT in Elementary Education with K-6 Certification from University of Pittsburgh, and a PhD in Instructional Leadership and Management from Robert Morris University.
