Trish Franks is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow. Trish is a 6th grade history teacher and strong advocate for afterschool clubs as an arts and crafts club leader, basketball coach, and drama club leader. She has served as her school’s chair of culturally responsive teaching for two years helping to mentor teachers and organize projects to allow student experiences to be reflected in her school. She was voted by her peers to be on her school’s teacher leadership team to shape school calendar, budget and school goals. Trish began her teaching career in Massachusetts as a Teach for America corps member. She participated in Leadership for Educational Equity’s People of Color Emerging Policy and Advocacy Leader Series. She earned her BA in political science from Brigham Young University and her MEd in curriculum and teaching from Boston University.
