Sharonica Garrison is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Texas RISD Change Agent and 3rd grade RLA teacher at Thurgood Marshall Elementary in Dallas, TX. She focuses on teaching and growing readers no matter where they are academically. She has also co-piloted the logical progression approach to RLA at TME, which is a specific way that students learn to read, comprehend, and analyze content in reading. She is a Kagan School Trainer and Kagan Coach. Sharonica was named as one of Richardson ISD’s Super Teachers (2021-2022). Sharonica began her teaching career in Louisiana as a kindergarten teacher. She has also taught grades 1st and 2nd before relocating to Texas. Sharonica earned her Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. She later completed her Alternative Certification and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Louisiana College in Alexandria, LA.
