Renee Goldsmith is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and Spanish teacher, co-lead and junior class co-sponsor at Clairton High School in Clairton, Pennsylvania. She is the only language teacher in her district, teaching all levels of Spanish. Renee focuses on teaching students the 5 Cs of foreign language learning: communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, and communities. She began her career teaching in Maryland in 1998. She served as a foreign language department chairperson in Prince George’s County and taught advanced Spanish classes, Spanish immersion, and Spanish for Spanish speakers in Montgomery County. Renee is a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). She earned her BA in Spanish with a minor in secondary education from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and an MSA in educational administration from Trinity University in Washington, D.C.
