Karen Villatoro Gonzalez is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Nevada Policy Fellow and is a Medical Magnet educator at John C. Fremont Professional Development Academy of Medical Sciences. She also serves as the athletic director, dance team advisor and leadership advisor which focuses on National Junior Honor Society, Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America. Karen is an alumna of the InspirEd Fellowship and a former nominee for the Heart of Education award. Karen began at an early age with the Dade County Public School district in Miami Florida in 1997 as a paraprofessional and has been teaching in Nevada since 2002. She holds business management credentials from Miami Dade Community College, a BA in Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Child Care Director certification.
