Karla Guevara is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow who teaches Spanish II-V at Riesel School in Riesel. She is a passionate educator and leader with a strong commitment to student and teacher success. Karla leads the English Professional Learning Community (PLC), is the UIL Director, and is an active member of the Parent Outreach Committee. Karla mentors first-year teachers and advocates for expanding advanced coursework in rural schools. Her belief in the power of mentorship and professional development drives her involvement in these initiatives. Recognized as Teacher of the Year, Karla continues to influence her school community through her leadership, dedication, and advocacy for equitable education. Karla graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BA in Spanish.
