Cristina V. Gutierrez is a 2024-2025 Philadelphia Affinity Group Network Facilitator and is a kindergarten dual language teacher at Lewis Elkin Elementary. She is a 23-year veteran teacher who has also served as a grade leader. As a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow, Cristina co-wrote a study on early childhood educators’ satisfaction with the profession. She was a recipient of The Rose Lindenbaum Excellence in Education: Distinguished Teacher Award in 2012 and the Pennsylvania Association of Hispanic School Administrators Bilingual Teacher of the Year award in 2023. Cristina serves as a steering committee member for the Caucus of Working Educators and is completing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Cristina attended the University of Massachusetts where she received a BA in hotel, restaurant and travel administration. She received her MEd in English as a Second Language at the Universidad del Turabo & Pennsylvania State University.
