Cynthia Hopkins is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow who teaches 7th grade science and 8th grade engineering at Kaffie Middle School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She also sponsors the robotics, coding, and engineering clubs. Cynthia has a Masters designation from the Texas Education Agency and has hosted 10 clinical teachers in her classroom. She was the Education Service Center Region 2 Secondary Teacher of the year (2023). Previously, Cynthia served on the Teacher Vacancy Task Force. She has a BA in political science from American University; three MEds in curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, and special education; and PhD in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
