Cynthia Hopkins is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Cynthia teaches 7th grade science and 8th grade engineering at Kaffie Middle School in Corpus Christi. She also sponsors the robotics, coding, and engineering clubs. Cynthia holds a Master Teacher designation from the Texas Education Agency and has hosted 10 clinical teachers in her classroom. She was the ESC Region 2 Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2023 and a member of the Teacher Vacancy Task Force. Cynthia graduated from American University with a BA in political science and received three MEds in curriculum and instruction, education leadership, and special education, and her PhD in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
