Samantha Hopper is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent. She teaches 9th grade English and 9th-12th grade English language development 1 at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, California, also serving as Technology Effectiveness Coordinator and English Language Support Teacher. Samantha has been Theater Arts Director, Technical Theater Coordinator, Puente Coordinator, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Coordinator, Technology Leader, and English Department Chair. She was invited to participate in the Ignited program (2023), became a Bay Area Writing Project Consultant (2022), and was awarded a fellowship at Ahimsa Center of Pomona (2015). Samantha has taught preschool, kindergarten, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and high school grades. She has a BA in theater arts, with a minor in English literature, from San Francisco State University and a Secondary Teaching Credential and MEd from Mills College.
