Lyssa Horvath

Lyssa Horvath is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Senior Policy Fellow. Lyssa is a pre-k teacher for the Head Start program at Cook-Wissahickon Elementary School. Her philosophy centers on working with parents, caregivers, teachers, and community partners to create evidence-based, culturally responsive learning experiences that inspire children and families to become confident, successful life-long learners, thinkers, and leaders. Lyssa began her teaching career as a pre-k teacher in Virginia and while she continues to teach at her local public school, she has also served as a teacher coach and designed learning experiences for Philadelphia’s cultural institutions and a national chain of early childhood learning centers. Lyssa was named a Terri Lynne Lokoff Teacher Award Winner. She earned a BA in English from Mary Washington University and an MEd in education from Cabrini College.
