Tyler Hunt

Tyler Hunt is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Senior Policy Fellow and a 5th grade teacher at Georgetown Elementary School in Aurora, Illinois. She received a micro-credential in racial and social justice organizing from the Illinois Education Associations’ Leaders for Just Schools Level I and II Cohort, coauthored the Illinois Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King, Jr. commemorative holiday toolkit for educators, and works as a STEM teacher mentor for rising high school seniors who are part of the World-Wide Youth in Science and Engineering Program at UIUC. Tyler previously taught both third and fifth grade. She is an appointed member of the IEA Human and Civil Rights Committee and recently completed a coding summer institute to effectively teach the fundamentals of computer science to elementary students. She earned her BA in elementary education, MEd in curriculum and instruction with a focus on teaching diverse learners, and an English as a second language endorsement from Aurora University.
