Tyza Faith A. Iwag is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus New Mexico Change Agent and is a high school science teacher and teacher mentor at Raton High School in Raton. As a physical science and chemistry teacher, Tyza incorporates laboratory activities to enhance her students’ engagement and understanding of science. Tyza was named a Research for Science Educators scholar for three years, was a contributor of a National Science Foundation-funded research project titled “Mechanism of Light-activated Antiviral Activity of Conjugated Polyelectrolyte Polymers and Oligomers,” and was lead facilitator of artificial intelligence curriculum training for teachers in New Mexico designed and led by MIT, Boston College and NMSU. She earned her BS in physical science from West Visayas State University, Philippines.
