Lanae Jimenez is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus California Los Angeles Emergent Bilingual Change Agent. Lanae teaches English and English language development at Azusa High School in Azusa, California. She is a member of her school leadership team as a representative for emergent and experienced multilingual students. She previously developed and facilitated professional learning sessions for her colleagues on collaborative classroom conversations, school-wide writing initiatives, and building community. Lanae was Azusa High School’s Teacher of the Year (2017-2018). She earned her BA in literature and writing studies and her single-subject teaching credential in English from California State University, San Marcos, and her MA in English from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
