Juanita I. Harris is a 1st-grade teacher at Harmony Leadership Academy in Texarkana, Arkansas. She focuses on teaching all of the foundational skills necessary for the successful matriculation of her students. She represents her campus at the district level as their representative for the Personnel Policy Committee. She has previously served on the Lighthouse and Leader in Me Teams for her campus. Juanita was named Texarkana Arkansas School District Teacher of the Year (2018) and Regional Finalist for Arkansas Teacher of the Year (2019), and she Founded Teachers Support Teachers, B-Corp (2019). Juanita is a member of the Arkansas Education Association and a senior fellow for Teach Plus Arkansas. She graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, followed by a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
