Katie Kaepplinger is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Colorado Charter Teacher Policy Fellow who teaches in the self-contained level 2 Autism Center for K-5 at Rocky Mountain Prep: Fletcher campus in Aurora. She works to support the MTSS team with resources, problem-solving, and observations. She is starting a new special education parent committee for the Rocky Mountain Prep network where families can come together to collaborate and gain more resources. She previously taught in a 6-8th grade self-contained classroom. She won her campus’s 2022 Perseverance Award and was part of the special education team that won an award for having the most growth within the network in 2022-2023. She has a BA in special education with a specialization in learning and behavior from Illinois State University and an MEd in special education with specializations in curriculum analysis and behavior intervention from Illinois State University.
