Katharina Shepler is a Teach Plus Indianapolis Teaching Policy Fellow. Katharina is an Elementary Instructional Math Coach at Ralph Waldo Emerson School, where she also serves as a member of the leadership team. Katharina is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Prior to being an Instructional Coach, Katharina was a kindergarten through 3rd grade reading interventionist at Ralph Waldo Emerson and taught 1st and 2nd grade at Andrew J. Brown Academy. Katharina decided to enter the teaching profession when she realized the impact her 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Moriarity, had on her life. Katharina graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ball State University with a BA in Elementary Education.
