Andrea Kiesling is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow and a special education teacher at Avis Elementary School in Clayton, New Mexico. She focuses on providing support for students with special needs and is an advocate for equitable, restorative practices in the classroom. Andrea is also currently a Pear Deck coach and utilizes technology to differentiate instruction when possible. She began her career as a teacher with CES-LEAP (2nd cohort) and has previously taught 2nd grade. Andrea wrote a grant for the 2021-2022 school year that funded her school’s first ever STEAM Day through the Plateau Telecommunications Innovation in Schools Program. She is also a member of the Union County Youth Supporters. She earned her Bachelor’s and MM degrees from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque and a MScEd from University of the Southwest, Hobbs.
