Megan King is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. She is a 3rd grade teacher at Upper Allen Elementary School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Megan advocates for students’ academic growth and social-emotional wellbeing as a member of the district’s Instructional Coordinating Team and a pilot teacher for the Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) Social Emotional Learning Program. Megan was a part of the district’s Monitoring and Reporting Progress Committee that worked to redesign and implement a new K-5 grade reporting system following the COVID-19 pandemic. She has taught 2nd grade and 4th grade learning support. Megan earned her BS in preK-4 elementary education and preK-8 special education with a minor in reading methods from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and an MEd in multicultural education from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. She is currently working on her English as a Second Language (ESL) program specialist certification through Eastern University.
