Kelly Knight is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Houston Policy Fellow. She is an environmental science instructor at Katy High School in Katy, Texas, and an adjunct astronomy professor for Houston Community College. Kelly has served as an EcoRise Teacher Ambassador for four years, and an instructional assistant for NASA’s Community College Aerospace Scholars program. She is a past Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation/National Geographic Explorer Grant Recipient, Infiniscope Advisory Board Member, and National Science Teachers Association New Teacher Fellow. Currently, Kelly is a Cohort 4 member of SETI’s Community College Network. She has a BS in geology with a minor in anthropology from the University of Northern Iowa and MS in geoscience from Pennsylvania State University. Kelly also holds a MEd in curriculum and instruction with a secondary science emphasis from the University of Houston.
