Dwayne Lacy is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Houston Policy Fellow. He teaches 8th grade U.S. history at Beckendorff Junior High School in Katy, Texas. He is a Teacher Mentor while also helping in other areas needed. Dwayne previously served on the Campus Advisory Team at Beckendorff and is a Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellowship alumnus. Before his current position, he taught Texas history and U.S. history at West Briar Middle School in Houston Independent School District, and served as the Social Studies Department Chair for seven years. He has a BA in radio and television from Sam Houston State University and MA in education-teacher leadership from Grand Canyon University.
