Tennise Lucas is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus New Mexico Alumni Policy Fellow. Tennise is a Principal in Residence, mentor, and 7th grade lead/New Mexico history instructor at Solare Collegiate Middle School, New Mexico. Tennise started her journey in Roswell as a superintendent council member, SAT coordinator, and grade level team leader. She is a member of the state’s Secretary Advisory Committee, where she served as a state ambassador for the New Mexico PED. She serves as an Education Expert on the governing board at Gilbert Sena Charter School, providing valuable insights and guidance. Tennise has received Character Counts Awards for five consecutive years while in the Roswell Independent School District. Tennise received an MEd from Lesley University. Her New Mexico Teacher Certification is from Eastern New Mexico University, administrative training through the National Institute of Student Leadership, and administrative certification through Eastern New Mexico University.
