Kelly Luzzi is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus New Mexico Change Agent and a high school art teacher, advisory committee member, and student teacher mentor at Cibola High School in Albuquerque. She focuses on SEL curriculum, building safe spaces for students, and assisting students with critical thinking skills through art making strategies and project-based learning. She has been a mentor for UNM Art Education students for the past two years. She has presented at multiple state conferences on topics such as mindfulness, restorative justice, culturally responsive educational practices and the role of ACEs in student achievement. Kelly was awarded an LCE Bright Spot Initiative Award for Excellence in Teaching English Learners (2023); and NMAEA Graduate student of the Year Award (2020). Kelly earned her BFA with undergraduate honors and her MFA in art education from the University of New Mexico.
