Machelle Rasmussen is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Nevada Policy Fellow who is a middle school social studies teacher in the Clark County School District. Machelle is the chair and elected teacher representative of Guinn STEM Academy’s SOT. She is a member of the teaching union CCEA and serves as the Area Representative for her worksite. She is also a member of NEA-SN and serves as a virtual coach in their Early Career Learning Labs program. Machelle is working on earning her National Board certification. Machelle has AA degrees in Chinese Language, Arabic Language, and Serbian-Croatian Language from the Defense Language Institute, a BS in History from American Military University, an MEd in Education from National University, and endorsements in Chinese and English Language Acquisition.
