Melanie Madkin is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and a 1st-grade teacher at ESTEM Elementary-Downtown in Little Rock. She is a National School Choice Leader/Ambassador and served as the first-grade facilitator over the grade-level meetings at Friendship Aspire Pine Bluff-Downtown. Melanie officially began her teaching career in 2018 where she served as lead teacher, curriculum coordinator, and PM supervisor at Kiddie Academy in Little Rock. Since then, she has served as a lead teacher at other private and Christian schools, which has fostered her leadership skills to facilitate her early literacy program named “Come Read, Sing, Dance, and Play With Me” at the Pine Bluff Arts and Science Center. She earned her BS in psychology with a minor in education and nursing from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
