Shelly Manns is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and co-principal at Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh. She is the principal for grades 11 and 12 and has been in education for more than 20 years. Shelly began her teaching career as a middle school science teacher and went on to teach high school science courses, as well as serve as an adjunct instructor at various universities. She has served in such roles as lead teacher, department head, dean of students, and assistant principal. Shelly is the Grammateus of the Delta Phi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She earned her BA in biology education from South Carolina State University, master’s in curriculum and technology from the University of Phoenix, and her principal’s certification from Point Park University. She is currently seeking her EdD in educational leadership from Point Park University.
