Anselmo Marín is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent. He teaches 6th-8th grade science, English language arts (ELD), and ethnic studies, and is the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) advisor at Elkhorn Village Elementary School in West Sacramento, California. Anselmo has taught Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), led staff professional development on social justice standards, and been part of the school leadership team. He was named Washington Unified School District’s Secondary Teacher of the Year (2013-2014 and 2023-2024), Rotary Club of West Sacramento Teacher of the Year (2014 and 2019), and is a Yolo County Teacher of the Year candidate (2024). He is working on his National Board Certification. Anselmo has a BA in liberal studies, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) in Spanish, MA in multicultural education with an ethnic studies certificate from California State University, Sacramento. He holds a single subject science credential.
