Sharralyn Martin is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and is a school counselor at Joliet West High School in Joliet. She currently works with 9th grade students and parents in their transition to high school. Sharralyn currently serves as one of the cultural coaches for her district. Sharralyn was named the NAACP Educator of the Year in 2020. She earned a BS in Special Education from Illinois State University, and an MEd in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama.
