Jun M. Masongsong is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow and a special education teacher and athletic director at Gallup Middle School. He has a strong dedication to the total development of children with special needs. Jun has four years of teaching experience in special education. He has developed inclusion classes, and academic intervention and monitoring classes with a total of twelve years of experience in the education field. During his time in the Philippines, he taught deaf and mute students at Venancio Trinidad Sr. Memorial School. He also served as the Special Olympics Track and Field coach and competed up to the national level in the Philippines. He finished his Bachelor’s of elementary education in special education at Faith Colleges in the Philippines in 2010 as well as his MEd with a focus on special education at Jose Rizal University in 2018.
