Dara Miller is a 2024-2025 Illinois Policy Fellow and high school English teacher and department chair at The Chicago High School for the Arts in Chicago, Illinois. She specializes in Advanced Placement (AP) English, American literature, and world literature. She also has taught journalism and drama, and has been a school Professional Development Coordinator, district Vertical Alignment Coordinator, Grade Level Team Lead, Credit Recovery Coordinator, Writing Project Specialist, Instructional Technology Teacher Trainer, New Teacher Mentor, Building Leadership Team member, and Professional Solutions Committee member. Dara served as Union Chairperson (2020-2023), continuing as an organizer and Communications Chair. She is a member of the ELA Advisory Board for Facing History and Ourselves and is a member of the Illinois Association of Teachers of English and National Council of Teachers of English. Dara earned her BA in English education from Murray State University and her MA in English literature from DePaul University.
