Alexa Miller-Smith is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and is a 9th grade algebra teacher at Match Charter Public High School in Boston. Alexa is the advisor of her school’s National Honor Society and the curriculum writer for a secondary 9th grade math course. Alexa previously taught 12th grade statistics, and as a Teach for America corps member In Miami-Dade County Public Schools, she taught 8th grade pre-algebra and algebra and 10th grade geometry. While in Miami, she started a soccer team and an after-school tutoring program. And was named Rookie Teacher of The Year. Alexa earned her BS in economics and public policy with a minor in education from The George Washington University and her MS in education policy from Johns Hopkins University.
