Julie Mitchell is a 2022-2023 Indianapolis Equity Change Agent and a k-4th grade multilingual teacher at Sunny Heights Elementary in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is an active member of the PBIS team, ensuring that students understand the CORE values of Sunny Heights. She is an active participant with PTA who helps to plan events throughout the year for families and students, provides bilingual flyers, and advocates for all students at her school. She has mentored student teachers and first year teachers. Julie was awarded a grant through Warren Arts and Foundation which provided the funds for a book vending machine to help foster the love of reading and provide equitable books for all students. She earned her BA in Elementary Generalist and English as a New Language, and MSED in Urban Educational Leadership from IUPUI.
