Monica Nuñez is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow. Monica is a physics teacher and administrative intern at Santa Teresa High School in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. She is currently in her 16th year of teaching in the Gadsden Independent School District. Monica Nunez has been awarded distinguished fellowships that have shaped her own personal & professional life, which include a 2019 Polar TREC Educator Fellowship – Arctic, 2018 New Mexico TRIO Alumni Achiever, and 2017 National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship – Antarctica. Monica has both a BS in Education and an MA in Curriculum & Instruction from New Mexico State University. She is currently pursuing her Educational Leadership Certification at Western New Mexico University.
