La Tonya Mouzon is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and is currently serving as the Director of Student Services at Carbondale Elementary School in Carbondale, Illinois. La Tonya supports principals and assistant principals with providing multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) in the areas of social emotional learning, student mental health support, attendance and truancy, as well as behavior support. She also provides support in community and family engagement, staff recognition, and various other non-academically related areas. She has worked as a classroom teacher and assistant principal. She earned a BS in psychology and sociology from Austin Peay State University, a MAT in elementary education from Trinity College, Washington, DC, an MS in education administration from Grand Canyon University, and a PhD in health education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
