Melissa Murray is a 2024-2025 Illinois Policy Fellow and high school social science teacher and professional development trainer at Maine West High School in Des Plaines, Illinois. She is a trainer in Standards-Based Grading, Teaching Controversial Topics, and Community Collaboration. Melissa is a Multilingual Teacher and Field Museum Ambassador. She began her teaching career in 2000 as part of the Teachers for Chicago Program and is a part of the Facing History and Ourselves Teacher Leadership Team. Melissa earned a BA in anthropology and a BA in geography from The University of Arizona, as well as a MA in education from Chicago State University.
