April Ollila is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow and 5th grade science and social studies teacher at Whitesboro Intermediate School in Whitesboro. She serves as the 5th grade gifted and talented teacher, student council sponsor, and Elementary UIL Academic coordinator. She was recognized as a campus and district Teacher of the Year and as a finalist for the regional award. She has authored and been awarded numerous grants for the elementary science program and has also served on several review committees with the Texas Education Agency. April holds a BA in music education and an MA in curriculum and instruction from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
