Heidi Park is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and high school science teacher at Mather High School in Chicago, focusing on hands-on science experiences for all students. She sponsors the Gamers, Anime, Graphics, and Art Club. Heidi began her teaching career in 2013, teaching chemistry and physics at Chicago’s Jones College Prep High School, where she was co-chair of the science department, a member of the Professional Personnel Leadership Committee, and Scholastic Bowl team coach. Heidi was a Knowles Teacher Initiative Teaching Fellow (2012-2017) and is now a Senior Fellow. She is also a New Teacher Mentor and Team Lead for the middle and high schools’ STEM team in Chicago Public School’s New Teacher Cohort. She earned a BS in chemical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, MS in chemical engineering from Cornell University, and MEd in instructional leadership in science education from University of Illinois at Chicago.
