Lakeisha Patterson is a 2025-26 Teach Plus Texas Houston Policy Fellow. She teaches 3rd grade English language arts and reading at Deepwater Elementary School in Houston, where she is also the Student Council sponsor. Lakeisha previously taught special education at Deepwater and Petty Elementary in Taft, Texas. Currently, she is Deer Park Education Association local president and region president on the Texas State Teachers Association board of directors. Lakeisha has a BS in interdisciplinary studies and MS in special education from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.
