Sara Pletcher is a 2024-2025 Illinois Policy Fellow and Dual Language instructional coach, serving PreK-6th grade teachers in U-46 School District in Elgin, Illinois. She is passionate about biliteracy for all students, focusing on instructional approaches and systematic shifts. Sara has presented at national and state multilingual education conferences on instructional and pedagogical approaches for developing bilinguals. She has been published in the Soleado Newsletter and The Center for Teaching for Biliteracy’s blog, as well as self-published children’s books. Sara serves as adjunct faculty for the Erikson Institute in Chicago, supporting teachers and pre-service teachers pursuing their English as a second language/bilingual credential. She earned her AMS accreditation through the American Montessori Society, as well as two MAs in early childhood education from Erikson Institute and Dual Language Teacher Leadership at Roosevelt University. She has credentials in English as a second language/bilingual and teacher leadership, as well as her administrative license.
