Ashley Pointer is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and the 7th-grade school counselor, mentor, restorative practices trainer, and intern supervisor at Ramay Junior High School in Fayetteville. Her previous experience is within the mental health world in a therapeutic day treatment setting where she created programs and solidified community partnerships. She then moved into the public school elementary setting, where she worked as a school counselor in the alternative learning and general education settings. Ashley has received the Above and Beyond Award (2018, 2017), Happy Hollow Teacher of the Year award (2016), and was the middle school level School Counselor of the Year nominee NWA (2024). She has earned her BA in sociology with a minor in criminal justice and her MA in school counseling and leadership through Arkansas Tech University.
