Dr. Halee Porter is a 2023-24 Teach Plus Texas Senior Policy Fellow. Halee is the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade Hospitality Services teacher at Northside High School in Houston, Texas. She chairs the Interventions Assistance Team Committee which supports students who are part of the RTI process. She also serves as chair of the Northside High School Hospitality Committee, facilitating efforts that offer tangible and intangible encouragement, moral support, and financial assistance to fellow staff members. Dr. Porter has held several educational leadership positions such as dean of instruction and teacher mentor. Halee was named a Teacher of the Year finalist consecutively for the past five years and also received the “Outstanding Child Advocate” Award recognition from the Harris County Department of Education in 2012. She has earned her BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College, an MEd in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate in Executive Educational Leadership from Houston Baptist University.
