Willie B. Powell III is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Houston Policy Fellow. He teaches social studies at Lewis Middle School in Aldine Independent School District in Houston, Texas. Willie grew up in Brenham, Texas, home to the world-renowned Blue Bell Ice Cream and the first independent school district of Texas. He became a teacher because of his passion for helping youth reach their potential. He has a BA in criminal justice administration from the University of Phoenix and recently obtained his MBA.
