DeMilla Prince is a 2022-2023 Michigan Collaborative Teacher Leader. She taught English Language Arts and was the Content Area Lead teacher for Oak Park Preparatory Academy in Oak Park, Michigan. She is currently the Dean of Culture for the school and is excited about cultivating a climate that is lasting, positive, and impactful for all stakeholders. DeMilla is a servant leader that focuses on the well-being of the “whole child.” DeMilla was named Pontiac Academy of Excellence Teacher of the Year (2014), she was also awarded Channel 4 “Live in the D, Our Teacher’s Rock” (2018), and she was awarded the Keeper of the Promise Award for the Oak Park School District (2019). She earned her BA in Elementary Education and MEd in Educational Leadership at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
