Spencer Pritchard is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. He teaches African American Studies to 11th and 12th graders at Berkeley High School in Berkeley, California. Spencer is co-chair of the African American Studies Department, where he hosts programs such as the Black Scholars Center and Black Graduation. As Technology Teacher Leader, he supports his colleagues as they implement technology into their classroom instruction and everyday life. Spencer was a former Teacher of Color Network Facilitator for his local union and an Advisory Board Member for the Black Teacher Project. He earned a BA in African American studies at the University of California, Berkeley, Social Sciences Subject Credential at San Francisco State University, and master’s in history with a teaching concentration at California State University, East Bay.
