Jesus Quiroz is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent. He is the Designated English Language Development (ELD) teacher for grades 6-8 at Synergy Kinetic Academy, a middle school in Los Angeles. Jesus has been involved in designing and implementing the school’s ELD program for more than five years. He was previously involved in CASA, a student club funded by UnidosUS, in which students delve into their identity, culture, and community, and design and host a service learning project that tackles the root cause of an area of need in their community. Jesus began his teaching career through Teach for America Los Angeles (2015-2017). Prior to working in ELD, he was a history teacher. Jesus has a bachelor’s degree, with majors in history and anthropology, from the University of California, Berkeley, and master’s in teaching from Loyola Marymount University.
