Rachel Johnson is a 2020-21 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow. She is a 3rd grade teacher and community leader at Buckatunna School in Buckatunna, Mississippi. She was recently nominated as Buckatunna School’s PTO Vice President for the 2020-2021 school year and is a member of the Buckatunna School Leadership Team. Rachel previously taught first grade and second grade at Buckatunna School. She was the recipient of the McDonald’s Golden Apple Teacher Award for the 2017-2018 school year and was recently awarded an educational technology grant through the Dart Foundation for her school. She earned a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, a MEd in Elementary Education and an EdS degree in Educational Leadership from William Carey University, Hattiesburg.
